The first flight will be a milestone for the Indy airport, since it will now connect to all Delta hubs in the U.S.
The new Delta flight is the second nonstop flight from Indy to Seattle, Alaska Airlines launched a nonstop flight in May of last year. Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez says the new Seattle flight adds another west coast connection which is now at an all-time high in Indy with flights also to LA, Oakland, San Diego and San Francisco. “This is a significant achievement given many of those flights are connecting right into the heart of the nation’s burgeoning tech sector, and that compliments Indiana’s technology industry growth – which is tripling the national rate,” said Rodriguez.
This makes 15 nonstop flights from Indy for Delta, including the first transatlantic nonstop flight to Paris, which launched last month.
