Daviess County EDC names new leader

Subscribe NowRobert Grewe has been selected as the new executive director of the Daviess County Economic Development Corp., the organization announced Thursday. Grewe most recently served as director of economic development for the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership.
DCEDC Board Chairman Eric Lane cited Grewe’s efforts to establish an manage the operations and redevelopment of the 7,000-acre Vermillion Rise Mega Park during his tenure as executive director of the Newport Chemical Depot Reuse Authority, a position he held prior to joining E-REP, as a key reason for the hire.
“We are pleased and excited to have a professional of the experience and caliber like Bob to now lead and execute economic development strategy in Daviess County,” Lane said in written remarks. “We are looking forward to working with Bob to continue the county’s advancement and growth in the region.”
Grewe also previously served as CEO of the New Castle-Henry County Economic Development Corp. and president of the Dubois County Area Development Corp., according to LinkedIn.
He will begin his new role in Daviess County on Aug. 14.
“The city of Washington and Daviess County have a strong and diverse group of solid businesses and organizations, as well as significant foreign direct investment” said Grewe. “There are several opportunities for growth from the emerging microelectronics campus in the WestGate, agribusiness expansion, manufacturing and more – it’s an exciting time to be in Daviess County.”
Grewe succeeds Bryant Niehoff, who stepped down from the organization in April to become CEO of the Uplands Science and Technology Foundation.
