Damar to double units at Indy disability housing complex

Subscribe NowMore housing for adults living with disabilities is in the works after Indianapolis-based Damar Services Inc. announced Thursday it will double the number of units at its campus on the city’s southwest side.
The $10 million final phase of Damar Village will open in 2024 with seven residential buildings and a new multi-purpose activity center. Units will have two or four bedrooms, and the new community space will have teaching kitchens, an indoor track space and other amenities.
Damar Village originally opened in 2021 to provide housing for that community as well as the general public. After debuting its units, all were quickly occupied with 48 people.
The village is at 6055 Remarkable Way near Damar Services’ main campus. The organization said it will at 50 jobs at the residences and four at the new activity center.
Damar Services employs 1,100 people across its entire footprint.
