The deal is valued at $450 million and brings Credent’s assets under management to more than $3 billion.
Credent CEO David Hefty said in a news release that bringing Clarify Wealth into the fold feels like a perfect fit for his firm.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the talented team at Clarify Wealth to the Credent family,” Hefty said. “This partnership isn’t just about business; it’s about building relationships and enhancing the experience we provide to our clients in Cincinnati and beyond. Together, we’re going to achieve great things.”
Clarify Wealth also has offices in Lafayette, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio.
Credent said the acquisition provides a succession plan for Clarify Wealth’s three founding partners: CEO James Brandenburgh, Chief Financial Officer Aubrey Ramey, and Chief Investment Officer Brad Clark.
The Clarify Wealth team includes seven certified financial planners and two operational support staff members, all of whom are expected to fully integrate into the Credent team.
“[Credent’s] dedication to personalized client care resonates deeply with us, making this feel like coming home,” Brandenburgh said in the release. “Together, we’re excited to enhance our services and offer our clients even more resources and innovative solutions. As a combined team, we look forward to fostering growth and elevating the financial well-being of the communities we serve.”
The deal is Credent’s 13th acquisition in the last six years. It also comes less than three months after the firm received an investment from Texas-based Crestline Investors Inc. to support additional mergers and acquisitions and help further develop Credent’s technology platform.
