Country Duo to Headline ‘New-Look NASCAR Weekend’

Country band Florida Georgia Line will be a big part of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s NASCAR weekend as part of a partnership between IMS and Big Machine Records. The band will perform at the Speedway the day before the September race, which will be known as the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line.

The country duo will perform Saturday, September 8, ahead of the 25th running of Indy’s NASCAR race. The event will serve as the regular season finale for the NASCAR Cup Series. The race has moved from July to September in hopes of cooler temperatures helping to draw more fans.

The speedway says the agreement marks the first time a major recording artist or act will be part of the official name of a NASCAR race for multiple years. IMS President Doug Boles says the deal brings "additional energy and star power to what is already a can’t-miss racing weekend at the Racing Capital of the World."

Florida Georgia Line has played at IMS before, headlining the Firestone Legends Day concert during Indianapolis 500 race weekend in 2015. The band will headline the FGL Fest inside the IMS oval. The speedway says additional acts will be added soon.
