Columbia City manufacturer acquires Canadian company

The manufacturer and its parent, private equity firm MPE Partners, have acquired Les Industries Flexpipe Inc., a maker and distributor of steel modular framing structures and material handling systems in Farnham, Quebec.
Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
80/20 manufactures multi-function aluminum building systems for a variety of applications, including robotics, material handling and industrial manufacturing.
MPE Partner Karen Tuleta said Flexpipe will combine with 80/20, and the shared capabilities and cross-selling opportunities created through the acquisition will accelerate the combined company’s growth.
“Flexpipe has developed an exceptional brand and expands 80/20’s product line along with opening up new customers and applications,” 80/20 CEO Doug Waldal said in a news release. “We are excited to partner with the team and look forward to growing the combined business together.”
A spokesperson for 80/20 told Inside INdiana Business there will be no changes to staff at either company. Flexpipe CEO Julien Depelteau said 80/20 would be an “excellent fit” for his employees.
80/20 did not respond to a request for more information from Inside INdiana Business.
MPE Partners, which is co-headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts and Cleveland, Ohio, made its investment in 80/20 in March 2021. Terms of the investment were not disclosed, but the firm said it would position the company for further growth.
