The team says the new branding features modern designs and will complement its iconic horseshoe, which will remain the team’s primary logo.
“The Horseshoe remains our most timeless mark, worn by some of the greatest players in NFL history and loved by some of football’s greatest fans, Colts Nation,” said Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Colts vice chair & owner. “These new logos – particularly our new Indiana logo – honor our rich history, cement our real and lasting connection to Indiana and embrace the exciting future that lies ahead.”
The new Colts branding includes an “Indiana” secondary logo, a historic logo, a new primary wordmark and a new jersey number design.
The “Horseshoe” will remain the team’s primary logo. The team says the iconic mark has been used for 67 years and is one of the oldest in sports.
The team’s new “Indiana” secondary logo honors the team’s home state and community by featuring an outline of the state of Indiana carved out of the “C” from the Colts’ new word mark. The new secondary mark will be featured on fan merchandise and will be gradually integrated into the uniform design.
Jersey numbers will also be updated to mirror Colts uniforms from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
