Our partners at WEHT-TV report the 131-acre property was sold for $490,000, though the future of the property remains a mystery.
The court-ordered auction was held Tuesday by William Wilson Auction & Realty Inc., and the property was sold to creditors who submitted the winning bid, the station reported.
The property, located about 15 minutes northeast of Evansville, includes a 1/8-mile dragstrip and an oval dirt track. However, the track has been closed for several years due to ongoing financial struggles.
The property was originally sold at auction in 2020 for more than $370,000, and many had hoped the sale would lead to a revitalization of the property, though that never materialized.
The new owners of the speedway did not provide any details for future plans for the site.
