Set to open this summer, Centra said Tuesday it will be the only credit union in the Harrison County town.
The credit union is not disclosing its financial investment in the new location, which will be its 26th branch. However, a spokesperson told IIB that Centra is doing extensive renovations to upgrade the facility, including installing an interactive teller machine in the drive-thru.
“I’m excited Centra is expanding into another community that has yet to experience the credit union difference,” Centra President and CEO Rick Silvers said in a news release. “This location, along with our new location in Charlestown, allows us to reach new Members with the valuable services Centra provides.”
Centra opened its Charlestown location earlier this month. The credit union did not provide a specific opening date for the new location.
The new branch will be located at 1365 Highway 135 NW in Corydon. The credit union is adding five new jobs to its overall team of more than 400.
Centra is the sixth-largest Indianapolis-area credit union with $2 billion in assets, according to IBJ research. The credit union has branches throughout central and southern Indiana, as well as Jamestown, New York and Whitakers, North Carolina.
