CC Industries Buys Marion Distillery

Chicago-based CC Industries Inc. has acquired CIE, a producer of specialty alcohols headquartered in Marion. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CIE operates a commercial-scale distillery and serves spirit, food, and fragrance brands as well as artisan craft distilleries.
“CIE is a remarkable business with a proven ability to service customers and adapt to market demands,” said Bill Crown, president of CCI. “We are delighted to add CIE to the CC Industries family of operating companies.”
CCI says the company will operate as a stand-alone entity. CIE President and Chief Executive Officer Ryan Drook, as well as the management team, will continue in their current roles.
“The management team and employees have grown an exceptional business and fostered a culture of safety and outstanding customer service,” Crown said. “We are excited about CIE and dedicated to providing the resources to grow the business and enhance CIE’s ability to serve its customers.”
Drook says CCI is an ideal partner to support the company’s growth. CCI did not specify if any jobs would be affected as a result of the deal.
