Subscribe NowThe new owners of Caesars Southern Indiana casino in the Harrison County town of Elizabeth are holding a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the acquisition. North Carolina-based EBCI Holdings finalized the $250 million purchase from Caesars Entertainment Inc. (Nasdaq: CZR) in September.
EBCI represents the commercial gaming and hospitality business for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and announced its intentions to purchase the casino last December. Caesars sold the property as a condition of its $17 billion merger with Eldorado Resorts last year, but the property will continue to operate under the Caesar’s brand.
The tribe operates two Caesars Entertainment casinos in western North Carolina. Caesars Southern Indiana is the tribe’s first out-of-state acquisition.
