(Nasdaq: LAMR), an owner and operator of outdoor advertising and logo sign displays, has acquired Burkhart Advertising Inc. in South Bend. Lamar purchased the advertising company from members of the Burkhart/Miller family, third-generation descendants of company founders Charles and Elinor Burkhart.
The deal includes more than 1,500 billboard structures and 3,200 billboard faces, including 23 digital displays, throughout northern Indiana.
“As another company with deep family roots, we at Lamar know the hard work, commitment and frankly love required to build a great out-of-home advertising franchise like Burkhart’s,” said Sean Reilly, Lamar’s chief executive officer. “We remember the work of Scott Miller and are honored that Jenny, Buck, Charlie and Sara trusted us to carry their business forward.”
In addition to South Bend, Burkhart’s advertising serves the Fort Wayne, Elkhart, Muncie and Lafayette markets.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
