Our partners at WEHT-TV/WTVW-TV in Evansville report BRU Burger Bar will take over the recently-renovated building. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Indiana Landmarks President Marsh Davis will hold a news conference Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. CDT at the Greyhound bus terminal.
The historic blue building has been sitting empty for years, but has recently been restored. Back in June, Indiana Landmarks held a re-lighting ceremony at the site. Officials with the Southwest Indiana Chamber were hoping a restaurant would move to the site.
BRU Burger has locations in Indianapolis, Carmel and Lexington. According to the restaurant’s website, Cincinnati will soon be added to that list. The restaurant features gourmet burgers, salads, sandwiches and craft beer. BRU is a member of the Cunningham Restaurant Group.
