Breeze Airways plans to launch nonstop flights to Orlando and Fort Myers over the next six months, the airport announced Wednesday.
The airline, which bills itself as a leisure low-cost carrier, said the service to Orlando will run Thursdays and Sundays starting Nov. 7, while the service to Fort Myers will run Wednesdays and Saturdays starting Feb. 5, 2025.
“We’re excited to introduce these nonstop routes from South Bend to Orlando and Fort Myers starting in the fall and winter,” Breeze Airways CEO David Neeleman said in a news release. “These two great warm weather destinations are just the beginning. We see more opportunities from South Bend and we look forward to more growth in the future.”
South Bend International Airport CEO and Executive Director Mike Daigle called the new travel opportunities offered by Breeze “exciting.”
“With Breeze’s decision to expand service out of South Bend, we’re able to offer increased regional connectivity into and out of our great state. Indiana is truly a crossroads and cross airways to destinations near and far,” Gov. Eric Holcomb said in the release. “I’m thrilled to see these increased opportunities for customers to experience all that Indiana has to offer.”
South Bend will be Breeze’s second city it operates in Indiana. Last November, the airline announced service to Orlando from Evansville Regional Airport, which began in February.
