Legislative leaders in May announced the topics to be studied, which include alcohol laws, tax incentives and a shortage of health care providers in the state.
The process is overseen by the Legislative Council, which is chaired by Bosma and Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-16) and includes eight members each from the Indiana Senate and House. The committees review assigned topics, gather public testimony and recommend potential legislation ahead of the 2018 legislative session.
Other topics to be studied include short-term property rentals, self-generation of electricity by school corporations and food deserts. Many committees will begin meeting this month. Most will wrap up by the end of October.
