Blueprint Stats, which has developed a software platform to help coaches evaluate and develop the skills of their players, has been acquired by Sports Info Solutions (SIS), a sports data and analytics provider headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Launched in 2017 by Indiana University graduate Hunter Hawley and University of Notre Dame alum Josh Johnson, Blueprint Stats allow users to upload game footage, then generates a variety of data designed to help players improve their performance.
SIS said it plans to integrate Blueprint Stats’ technology with its advanced data, analytics and AI engines to support not just basketball, but baseball and football as well.
The company said the acquisition stems from a partnership between the two entities, which began last summer.
“As we advance our data collection technologies, and techniques while really leaning into computer vision, machine learning, and advanced tooling to do so, the complementary nature of Blueprint’s tools and people made this acquisition an obvious path to go down,” SIS CEO Dan Hannigan-Daley said in a news release. “We’re very excited to bring Blueprint in house.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. SIS also did not state whether any jobs would be affected by the deal.
The company did not respond to multiple requests for more information by Inside INdiana Business.
Blueprint Stats has raised a significant amount of money over the last few years, including $50,000 from the Bloomington-based Flywheel Fund, $100,000 from the IU Angel Network, and a total of $100,000 from Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures’ Community Ideation Fund and Elevate Nexus pitch competition.
