Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed, but Four Points told IIB it has plans for future expansion at the campground.
Jellystone Park sits on 65 acres on the southwestern edge of Lake Monroe, about 60 miles southwest of Indianapolis. It features 140 campsites and cabins, as well as two swimming pools, a splashground, and other attractions.
It is the fourth Jellystone Park franchise, and first in Indiana, acquired by Four Points, which launched in 2020 by Sean Vidrine and Matt Van Der Molen. The company also owns and operates two other RV parks in Mississippi and Pennsylvania.
Vidrine, who serves as CEO of Four Points, said the Bloomington location is a great strategic fit because of its proximity to the company’s other Midwest properties and it has room for expansion.
Four Points plans to invest in expanding in Bloomington, including 85 new RV sites and cabins, an enlarged splash pad, new boat rental program, expanded food and beverage options, and potentially a zip line and new lookout points over the nearby waterfalls.
A spokesperson for the company said the expansion is slated to begin next year, though the company did not state how much it is investing in the project.
Jellystone Park in Bloomington has about 40 employees, including seasonal workers, and Four Points said it plans to increase the park’s headcount as it expands. A new general manager has been hired to take over for the park’s previous owners.
The spokesperson said Four Points has no immediate plans to acquire any other Indiana properties, but is open to doing so if they meet the company’s criteria.
“The outdoor leisure industry had already started to take off before the pandemic,” Vidrine said in a news release. “The long term outlook is very favorable, because so many families have discovered camping, with many buying RVs.”
Four Points said it plans to add more properties around the country over the next two years.
