Bethel College and the Missionary Church USA have jointly launched a $750,000 living endowment to fund a new professor position at the college for 10 years. The position will be named the “Missionary Church Endowed Professor of Biblical Theology” after the church funding the endowment.

The professor will likely teach both undergraduate general education courses and major courses focused on christian thought and faith.

Steve Jones, the president of the Missionary Church, said, “It’s vitally important that we have theologically trained pastors and Christian workers, trained by our own college that we trust, who can help us fill the needs that we have for the future.”

The college and church are reviewing candidates to fill the position. They expect to announce the professor over the summer.
