Clever Real Estate based its America’s 150 Best College Towns on three criteria: affordability, social life and culture, and college quality.
West Lafayette is the highest ranked Indiana community, coming in at No. 11.

- No. 41 South Bend (University of Notre Dame)
- No. 133 Terre Haute (Indiana State University)
The real estate company factored affordability based on rent for a one-bedroom apartment and student loan debt. Social life looking at walking and biking access to entertainment and restaurants. College quality looked at graduation rate, retention rate, and median pay 10 years after graduation.
The top-ranked best college town is Stanford, California.
