(NYSE: BERY) is expanding its stretch film manufacturing facilities in Lewisburg, Tennessee. The plastics manufacturer is not disclosing its financial investment in the project, but said 10 jobs would be added to the plant’s current staff of 116.
Berry said the project will add three new cast lines, upgrade the plant’s existing post-industrial resin reprocessing system, and extend its rail spur for resin material handling.
The company said plastic stretch films are a preferred product for pallet load containment. In partnership with its OEM supplier, Berry will first complete the installation of one cast line it said will support 20 million pounds of added capacity for ultra-high-performance films.
“The ability to access innovative, sustainable film solutions is critical for our customers as they work to drive progress toward a circular, net-zero economy,” General Manager of Performance Materials Phil Stolz said in a news release. “Expanding our Lewisburg facility will allow us to optimize the facility to help our films customers deliver against their ambitious sustainability goals.”
The 25,000-square-foot expansion is expected to be complete by early 2024.
