Presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their workplace over the past year through their HR efforts.
Mari Jo Moody received the award for implementing best practices, and for finding a balance between needs of employees, while also helping the company achieve its goals.
“It is through this collaborative effort that we can drive sustainable results for our people, our business and our communities,” said Moody.
Moody assumed her position early this year, but her work with Batesville dates to 1996 when it was still a subsidiary of former parent, Hillenbrand Inc. (NYSE: HI)
In February, Hillenbrand announced it had sold the former Batesville Casket Co. to Connecticut-based LongRange Capital for $761 million.
Batesville Services, which was founded in 1884 as the Batesville Coffin Co., manufactures burial and cremation products, and provides technology services for funeral professionals.
“As Batesville starts to operate as a private, standalone business for the first time in its history, Mari Jo is helping lead the charge,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar. “She’s collaborating with LongRange Capital to use data, analytics and technology to improve operations with an emphasis on ultimately delivering better service.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce honored Moody Wednesday at the 59th Annual Indiana Human Resources Conference & Expo at the Indiana Convention Center.
