The company, a subsidiary of Japan-based Toyota Industries Corp., says the 435,000-square-foot facility will consolidate several existing buildings into one centralized location.
Plans for the campus were first announced in January 2023. Bastian said at the time it plans to add 250 jobs over five years and relocate 400 existing employees to the new site near East 146th Street and Promise Road.
“The corporate headquarters relocation to our city not only represents an investment in the international company’s future, but our community and workforce,” Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen said in a news release. “The commitment to retaining existing jobs and creating new ones will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”
Bastian designs, makes and installs conveyor systems, robotics, software and other materials-handling products used in a variety of applications, from retail distribution centers to auto manufacturing and distribution.
The investment in the Noblesville campus has grown from the original estimate of $130 million. Bastian said the project coincides with the nearly $100 million expansion of sister company Toyota Material Handling’s manufacturing operations in Columbus.
“Toyota’s investment in Noblesville, along with Toyota Material Handling’s in Columbus, showcases Toyota’s long-term vision for driving progress in manufacturing, logistics, and its investment in the state of Indiana,” Bastian CEO Aaron Jones said.
The company did not provide a timeline for construction to be completed.
Bastian is the second-largest Indianapolis-area engineering firm and seventh-largest logistics provider in the metropolitan area, according to IBJ research. Outside of central Indiana, the company has offices and/or facilities in more than a dozen U.S. locations, as well as offices in Brazil, Canada, India and Mexico.
