The program provides in-person, on-the-job training, as well as computer module education that culminates in a professional culinary patch and certification.
The company says the one-year program offers three stages of education: culinary aide, prep cook, and cook. Participants work alongside ASC culinary professionals, covering kitchen safety, diet types, food safety and preparation, as well as fine dining, etiquette, and food presentation.
The paid apprenticeship program is available to people sixteen years of age and older. ASC’s program is a Registered Apprenticeship with the U.S. Department of Labor, and it is approved by the Indiana Board of Health.
The senior healthcare provider says it will hold an announcement ceremony Wednesday at Rosegate Assisted Living in Indianapolis to further detail the program.
