Anthem Completes Acquisition of America’s 1st Choice

(NYSE:ANTM) has finished its acquisition of privately-held America’s 1st Choice. The for-profit Medicare Advantage organization offers HMO products under its Optimum and Freedom Health brands in Florida, and also operates America’s 1st Choice of South Carolina.

America’s 1st Choice was founded in 2008 and serves approximately 130,000 Medicare customers. The company will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anthem. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
