BetMGM is entering the market through an agreement with Boyd Gaming, which operates Belterra Casino in Switzerland County. Boyd Gaming also owns Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City.
The sports betting app is a joint venture between Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGN) and GVC Holdings Inc., which is located in the United Kingdom.
BetMGM is the fifth online sportsbook in the Hoosier State, joining DraftKings, FanDuel, BetRivers, and BetAmerica.
According to gaming analysts at PlayIndiana.com, Belterra has struggled to take in as many wagers as its competitors.
It did not have an online sportsbook.
Throughout January, the casino took in $930,000 for its sports handle, which was the second-lowest amount in the state.
In comparison, Ameristar Casino in East Chicago took in over $70 million in its sportsbook, most of that (72%) online, which partners with DraftKings.
PlayIndiana.com analysts say Belterra is hoping that BetMGM can give them a similar kind of boost.
