The school says the lab houses several high-capacity servers and other technology that will allow students to gain real-life experience.
The university says the center also has a set of access switches, edge switches, core switches, core routers and wireless devices. Students in computer science and engineering courses will be able to write code, then run it through the high-speed servers, allowing the code to be executed quickly. Faculty will also be able to use the lab for research and more complex projects.
Ascension Information Services was the lead partner for the lab, with additional support from Integration Partners. The school says Ascension will use the center for periodic training for their employees.
Anderson University graduated its first class of mechanical engineers this year and is expected to graduate its first class of electrical and computer engineering students this spring.
