The company says Eurosatory is the largest international exhibition for the land and air defense and security industry.
The company won an initial $230 million contract from the Department of Defense in 2023 to manufacture JLTVs for the U.S. Army. Over the next 10 years, the deal is expected to be worth over $8 billion.
Improvements on the JLTV A2 includes improved fuel efficiency via upgraded transmission gear coding, enhanced lithium-ion battery replacing lead-acid batteries, upgraded corrosion protection and improved accessibility for easier maintenance, AM General said in a news release
“Eurosatory is the perfect international venue to debut the JLTV A2 and demonstrate the improvements made to this incredible platform and how these will positively impact the Warfighter,” AM General CEO Jim Cannon said in the release. “As we ramp up the program it’s also important for us to communicate to our customers the acquisition process, via Foreign Military Sales, for the JLTV A2 and being at this far-reaching show allows us to do that.”
The JLTV A2 Utility variant will be on display and will feature the deFNder Medium Remote Weapon Station from FN Herstal that is suited for self-defense, infantry fire support, and long-range combat missions.
The contract with the DoD calls for the production of 21,000 JLTVs and 9,800 corresponding trailers. AM General last year said it would invest $70 million to expand its Mishawaka production facility, a move that could create up to 300 jobs.
At the expo, AM General will also display its Humvee Saber, which it says combines the Humvee Series 13 chassis with a new monocoque armored capsule designed to deliver enhanced crew protection and survivability.
