Airxcel launches Elkhart-based appliance business

Airxcel Inc., a designer, manufacturer and distributor of products for the recreational vehicle industry headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, has launched a new business based out of Elkhart.
The company says InVision will produce a variety of high-end kitchen and other RV appliances.
Airxcel declined to disclose its financial investment in the business launch. But the subsidiary’s initial family of products will include refrigeration, ranges, range hoods, microwaves plus ancillary products including laundry, dishwashers, small personal appliances and water supply systems.
“InVision is being designed and serviced by people who not only use these products, but also have a deep knowledge of the RV industry,” InVision Business Unit Manager Chris Greer said in a news release.
The new business unit debuted its product line last week at Airxcel’s Product Showcase. Airxcel said InVision will serve and support the original equipment manufacturer community in Elkhart.
A spokesperson for Airxcel declined to state how many people are being employed at InVision.
InVision joins several others under Airxcel’s umbrella in Elkhart, including Cleer Vision Windows, Elkhart Composites Inc., and Velarium.
