Senior Director of Commercial Enterprise Marsha Stone says the new offerings, which will include Shake Shack, Ben’s Soft Pretzels and Sun King, is based on research into "what the traveler of the future is looking for."
The moves are part of the airport’s Concessions Refresh initiative that launched in 2016 to address pending expiration of 43 retail, service and food and beverage contracts. The authority says the new slate of vendors puts a bigger focus on local offerings.
The new offerings approved by the board include:
- Sun King Brewery (Indianapolis)
- Farmer’s Market – featuring Indiana-made products
- Bento Sushi (Ontario, Canada)
- Bub’s Burgers (Carmel)
- Hot Box Pizza (Indianapolis)
- Indiana Pacers Courtside Club (Indianapolis)
- Circle City Beer Garden
- Social Cantina (Bloomington)
- Tinker Coffee (Indianapolis)
- Stacked Pickle (Indianapolis)
- Shake Shack (New York)
- Ben’s Soft Pretzels (Goshen)
Bub’s Burgers, Bento Sushi, the Stacked Pickle, the Social Cantina and an expanded Harry and Izzy’s concept will be in Concourse A. Shake Shack, Sun King Brewery and The Farmers’ Market will be in Concourse B. Both concourses will house Tinker Coffee and Starbucks locations. A Starbucks/Circle City News location will open in Baggage Claim. HotBox Pizza, Indiana Pacers Courtside Club and Circle City Beer Garden will be in Civic Plaza.
IAA expects to approve additional Concessions Refresh contracts later this year.
While some new concepts are entering the airport, others are leaving. Some will close beginning this spring and summer, while others will close in 2020 or 2021, depending on their leases. The closures will include:
