ACRES Land Trust Adds Land From Three Counties

Subscribe NowOver 50 acres in three Indiana counties have been added to ACRES Land Trust following recent acquisitions. The trust added 18 acres in Wells County, 19 acres south of Warsaw and 17 more acres at two preserves in Noble County.
Neighbors of the Wildwood nature preserve near Warsaw, Roger and Carla Wagoner, sold land to allow ACRES to enclose the preserve’s pond and to protect the oldest section of an adjacent forest.
An unnamed Allen County couple funded the purchase of 16 acres to add to the 68 acre Sauga Swamp in Noble County. The land trust also accepted a one-acre donation to its Tamarack Preserve in Noble County.
“Adding to existing preserves will always be a priority to ACRES,” says Jason Kissel, executive director of the donor-supported organization. “Additions increase protection for the original preserve, expanding habitat or enclosing a natural feature, keeping it safe. Adding to the lands our donors protect reinforces ACRES’ promise to protect places forever.”
Kristie Fuller also added 18 acres to the 56-acre Hurb and Frances Fuller Woods preserve, named for her father and grandfather, that she donated last year in southwestern Wells County.
ACRES protects and manages 100 properties on 7,000 acres in three states.
