Known as The Edge, the project will feature a 140-room hotel, 75,000-square-foot event center, condominiums, retail and restaurant space, a fire training center and an entertainment district.
Developers say the project is the result of a multi-year effort by Boonville Mayor Charlie Wyatt to attract a hotel and continued economic development to the city located about 20 miles east of Evansville.
Officials say the goal is to not only generate revenue for the city and surrounding area but also serve as a destination for conventions and events.
The entertainment district, when complete, will be home to multiple amenities such as a bowling alley, mini golf, batting cages, air soft range, axe throwing, indoor karting, and an amphitheater.
The design of the first phase of the project, which includes the hotel and event center, is underway by Boyatt Design in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024 and will support 200 construction jobs.
The entire project will continue in phases until its scheduled completion in 2026.
The project is being developed by Heavenly Hands Property Services Inc. and Renco-USA, both based in Jupiter, Florida. It is being done in conjunction with Miami-based Desimone Consulting Engineering; The Center for Institutional Finance in Daytona Beach, Florida; and NASG Solutions in St. Paul, Minnesota.
