Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the brewery is also looking to expand the venue when it opens.
The brewpub was closed in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 3 Floyds, which has become a destination for craft beer fans, continued to produce its popular beers and distribute them to bars, restaurants, liquor stores and grocery stores.
Munster Town Manager Dustin Anderson said the brewery approached the town about expansion. He said more details are set to be revealed when the company goes before the Munster Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission on Oct. 10.
“There is a project being considered that will reopen the brewpub and include an outdoor patio concept,” Anderson told The Times.
The reopening of the brewpub would be a continuation of the brewery’s return to form.
Last year, 3 Floyds announced it would bring back its popular Dark Lord Day event that draws thousands of visitors to Munster. The event celebrates the release of the brewery’s Dark Lord Imperial Stout, which is available only once per year.
