BraunAbility made that announcement Tuesday as it opened its new global headquarters in Carmel.
BraunAbility executives and government officials celebrated the opening of the new 18,000 square foot office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony coinciding with National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
BraunAbility CEO Staci Kroon announced a commitment to increase the representation of candidates with disabilities within the company’s workforce, ensuring a work environment that is accessible for those with mobility challenges.
The company was started 56 years ago in the town of Winamac. In February it announced plans to move the headquarters to Carmel while maintaining its manufacturing plant in Pulaski County. The company said the move was necessary to support its global growth plans.
The company plans to establish its research and development efforts in Carmel next year with the construction of a 20,000 square foot facility. Between the opening of the new HQ and the R & D space, BraunAbility says the move will create 68 new jobs, 25 of which have already been filled.
