Engineering Company Adding Jobs in Columbus

Columbus-based LHP Engineering Solutions says it will expand its Bartholomew County operations and add up to 135 jobs by 2023. The company, which provides engineering services for the automotive, aerospace and medical industries, says it will invest more than $1 million to upgrade its Columbus headquarters.

LHP currently employs nearly 200 associates in Columbus and close to 500 worldwide. In addition to its Indiana headquarters, the company has operations in California, Michigan, Texas, China, Italy and Mexico. The company is currently hiring for positions including electrical, mechanical and computer science engineers.

The company’s training division LHPU partners with Ivy Tech Community College and the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs on hands-on training and career development for Hoosier veterans. LHP says, through the partnership, it has helped train more than 600 students and engineering professionals.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered the company up to $1.6 million in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The city of Columbus is supporting the expansion as well.
