Oliver Luck Named XFL Commissioner

Subscribe NowFormer NCAA and NFL executive Oliver Luck will lead the newly-relaunched XFL after being named commissioner and chief executive officer. Luck most recently served as executive vice president of regulatory affairs and strategic partnerships for the NCAA in Indianapolis.
Luck formerly served as president of NFL Europe and general manager of the league’s Frankfurt Galaxy and Rhein Fire. Luck played 4 seasons as quarterback for the NFL’s Houston Oilers after a storied college career at West Virginia University.

The XFL begins in early 2020 and will deliver what it calls a "fan-centric, innovative experience, including fast paced games and a family-friendly environment." The eight-team league is set for a 10-week regular season, with a scheduled postseason of two playoff games followed by a championship contest.
