The fiber optic provider says the multi-year project will increase capacity and boost reliability.
The company says the first phase is complete, with additional phases set to wrap up over the next three months. The effort will then continue in the first quarter of 2019. IFN says it has invested more than $20 million in customer and infrastructure-related projects over the last year.
Vice President of Operations Darryl Smith says the project represents a "significant upgrade" to IFN’s network. He says the upgrades will enable the company to handle increased demand created by 5G and other technologies. IFN provides fiber broadband service to more than 4,000 buildings in Indiana.
