Two Plymouth Businesses Announce Expansions

Pretzels Inc. has announced its second major expansion in less than two years. The company plans to invest $9 million in its facility, including installing a second oven and new packaging line. The moves expect to create 35 new jobs with an average pay of $17.90 per hour. The Plymouth City Council recently approved a tax abatement for the company, which is headquartered in Bluffton. The company expanded to Plymouth in 2016, and has since hired 70 workers and began 24/7 operation after an initial investment of $18 million.
Weir Enterprises LLC, also known as Carey’s Child Care, will soon operate a new early learning center. The new $500,000 expansion will allow them to double the amount of children they serve, from 32 to 64, and also to double their workforce, from 5 to 10. The Plymouth City Council also approved a 7-year personal property tax abatement, which supported the expansion.
