Launch Fishers co-founder John Wechsler says relationships from that event have led to a planned multi-page spread on the Indianapolis area’s tech ecosystem in California Sunday magazine in the coming weeks. The region will be the centerpiece of a story on the growth of entrepreneurial ecosystems outside of Silicon Valley. October’s event featured 10 of Indiana’s top tech startups competing for a $100,000 investment from Case.
In an interview at the Inside INdiana Business Launch Fishers bureau, Wechsler said Rise of the Rest has resulted in multiple wins for the region. He says that includes "multiple investments that are in the works or have been announced" from Case and the $150 million Rise of the Rest fund.
Indianapolis-based water quality testing company 120WaterAudit won the Rise of the Rest competition. Chief Executive Officer Megan Glover was among a group of five attendees from Indiana to attend the Rise of the Rest Summit earlier this week in Washington D.C. Wechsler says the Indy area got multiple shout-outs from the stage from different presenters.
California Magazine is a weekend publication that is distributed with select Sunday copies of the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. Wechsler says the publication sent a writer from Atlanta and a photographer from San Francisco over the past few weeks to spotlight tech and entrepreneurial hotspots in the area.
