Preschool Scholarship Program Taking Applications

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowApplications are now open for the state-supported On My Way Pre-K program in 20 counties. Since the program was launched in 2015, more than 5,000 Hoosier children have received a grant to participate.
The program for three and four-year-olds has grown from five initial counties — Allen, Jackson, Lake, Marion and Vanderburgh. Counties added through program expansion approved last year include Bartholomew, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Floyd, Grant, Harrison, Howard, Kosciusko, Madison, Marshall, Monroe, St. Joseph, Tippecanoe and Vigo.
Requirements for participation include: families with incomes below 127 percent of the federal poverty level. Children that will be four years-old by August 1 and parents or guardians that are working, attending school or in job training.
