Purdue University will Thursday morning host what it calls the largest STEM conference in Indiana. Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick will be among the speakers at the STEM Education Conference, which is expected to draw 500 attendees.

This is the third year for the event. It is divided into three sections: K-12 STEM practice, STEM education research and STEM resources. Educators from throughout the state will make presentations on their approaches to using STEM in their curriculum. McCormick and Purdue President Mitch Daniels will deliver opening remarks.

The conference runs from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. in Purdue’s Stewart Center. It is sponsored by Purdue’s College of Education, the Center for Advancing the Teaching and Learning of STEM, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Department of Education.

The conference debuted at Purdue in 2016.
