Taylor to Install New President
Haines is a Taylor graduate and has been a board member for more than a dozen years.

Haines was named president last year after serving as a partner with Indianapolis-based law firm Faegre Baker Daniels for 25 years.
Haines has been Taylor’s president since June 2016.
The installation ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Kesler Student Activities Center on the Upland campus. Former Taylor presidents Jay Kesler, David Gyertson and Eugene Habecker will be in attendance, in addition to delegates from throughout the country.
"The inauguration of a president on any college campus is an event of significance that reaches well beyond the person who is vested with the office of president," said Haines. "More importantly, it is a celebration of the history, heritage, people, educational mission, and, in Taylor’s case, religious purposes, that are essential to the life of the institution of higher learning."
The ceremony will be followed by an academic colloquium at the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. The festivities will culminate with a performance from Steve Amerson and the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra.
Haines began his tenure in June, succeeding Habecker, who retired at the end of the previous school year. He is a 1975 Taylor graduate and spent 10 years working for the university before leaving to attend law school.
