F.C. Tucker Co. says pended home sales in central Indiana increased 11.8 percent in June. More than 3,400 homes were sold in the 15-county region, up from just over 3,000 during the same month last year. 

Of the counties tracked by F.C. Tucker, 11 saw an increase in home sales last month with Bartholomew and Madison counties seeing the largest jumps at 30.9 and 28.1 percent, respectively. The company says the average year-to-date home price for the region increased to $196,627, a 6.1 percent jump over the same month in 2016.

"We want to reassure buyers that although inventory remains limited, there are still many great housing options available," said Jim Litten, chief executive officer of F.C. Tucker Co. "Indiana’s housing market is strong and is on track to remain so through the duration of 2017."

F.C. Tucker says the number of active listings dropped 17.7 percent in June to 8,406. None of the 15 counties saw an increase in active listings. Putnam and Shelby counties saw the biggest drops in active listings at 29.6 and 26.9 percent, respectively.
