He has served in leadership roles with the school for more than 30 years, most recently as vice chancellor of student affairs.
Nolot succeeds longtime chancellor Rita Shourds, who was let go from the position last month.
Over the past three decades, Nolot’s roles have focused on areas including marketing, enrollment, student affairs, capital projects and legislative issues.
“We are thankful to Terry and acknowledge his abilities to lead the region,” said Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann. "He will help guide a great team of faculty and staff as we focus on our next academic year, continued partnering with the community, and meeting the needs of employers."
Nolot lives in Jeffersonville and holds degrees from Vincennes University and Indiana State University.
