Platform 24 is the result of a partnership between Carmel-based The Brookfield Group and The Speak Easy, which has three other coworking locations in central Indiana. Daniel Abdallah says the Brookfield Group has dozens of partners in tech cities that could benefit from the platform.
A ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for Platform 24 is set for April 13. Abdallah says he hopes to attract 200-250 members, and ultimately wants to take over the building next door, which would add about 40,000 square feet of space. He says the ultimate goal of Platform 24 is to let "the space fall away" and allow members to be more productive.
The Speak Easy board member Amber Ross says the space is part of the organization’s ongoing effort to make Indiana one of the best places to be an entrepreneur. Platform 24 joins ZWorks in Zionsville and Speak Easy locations in downtown Indianapolis and the Broad Ripple neighborhood in its network.
Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard says he is happy to welcome the coworking space to the city, saying he expects "startups and small businesses that flock to Platform 24 will find their long-term home here in Hamilton County."
The space includes open work areas, adjustable desks and office space. It also features 70-inch mounted televisions, conference rooms and a commercial printer.
