Evansville Wartime Museum seeks donations after storm damage

Our partners at WEHT-TV report the museum is closed indefinitely while repairs are made.
The P-47 fighter plane was damaged when a Vietnam military vehicle was pushed into the plane from the heavy winds. However, officials the plane will be repairable.
The majority of the roof was removed and several artifacts were damaged as well.
“There’s water coming in, and we have no way of stopping the water. We probably had 20 to 30 people here trying to move things, and put tarps on exhibits, ” Dona Bone, chairman of the Wartime Museum’s Events Committee, told WEHT.
Bone said they’ll have someone come in to give a damage estimate and eventually, the damaged portion of the plane will be send out for repairs.
