The bank plans to consolidate its two Brownsburg locations into one and reimagine and expand that main office.
The new State Bank campus along 56th Street will be constructed in three phases. The finished, multimillion-dollar project will feature a renovated banking center, an outdoor community plaza and an additional office building. The first piece is underway as the bank is creating a multi-lane drive-thru, private offices and individual teller stations.
The Garner Road location will be closed after the consolidation Dec. 1, according to the bank. The two centers are less than two miles apart.
All 105 employees will be retained, with potential to hire three more, a spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business.
The bank cited a continuing shift to remote banking as a reason it and other banks are shifting their business model and banking center strategy. State Bank said in a news release that more transactions are happening outside banking centers, meaning digitally, so it has to change its game plan.
“We also continue to invest in our banking center network to deliver the best experiences and services for our customers that choose to bank in person,” State Bank President and CEO Mike Baker said. “Brick-and-mortar banking will continue to play a vital role in the way we serve our customers. Our first-class customer service and local decision making will always be the heart of what we do.”
Customers will receive a letter with transition information by the end of the month.
