Our partners at WEHT-TV report the Evansville Card Con is expected to draw thousands to the city’s downtown.
The event takes place at the Old National Events Plaza on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. David Nguyen, owner of The Hobby Den in Evansville, said the event is part of a two-year effort to attract a larger card convention to the city.
“We’re asking local businesses if they want to participate, because, usually, on this sort of event type of thing, you wouldn’t want to ask your so-called, quote-on-quote competitors to join you,” Nguyen told WEHT. “But this is just something that we want everyone in the hobby to enjoy.”
The event will feature 180 vendor tables. Following the main event, attendees will be able to trade cards from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
