The Deaconess Sports Park in Evansville and the Newburgh Girls Softball Complex will host games in addition to the Newman Park Athletic Complex in Henderson, Kentucky.
The event is the largest tournament at the Evansville sports park this year. The city expects over 2,300 hotel room night bookings and $2 million in economic impact.
The tournament begins Tuesday and ends Saturday and includes 175 fast pitch teams ranging from 8U to 18U.
“We’ve united a passion for the game with a city that embraces sportsmanship and hospitality,” USSSA Tournament Director Tim Foster said. “This year’s tournament will witness fierce competition, skill and teamwork as we proudly showcase the indomitable spirit of the softball community.”
We’ll have more on the impact of the event and sports tourism throughout Indiana on this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick.
