Schurz Communications names next chief executive

Subscribe NowMishawaka-based Schurz Communications Inc. has named a veteran in the telecommunications industry its next president and chief executive officer. The board of directors has elected John Reardon to succeed Todd Schurz, who has served in the role since 2007.
Reardon takes over on Feb. 1
According to the company, Reardon has served as an independent director for the company since 2020. He has served as CEO and other senior roles for multiple firms in the telecommunications and technology-related industries for more than 20 years.
Schurz was founded in 1872 with the launch of the South Bend Tribune. Over the decades, the company launched numerous radio and TV stations and acquired other newspapers. But in 2015, it sold its TV division, followed by the sale of its publishing division in 2019. It now focuses on broadband operations and cloud services.
