Accutech lands funding for staff expansion

The Muncie Redevelopment Commission has approved a $750,000 grant for Muncie-based Accutech Systems Corp., which is looking to more the double its staff. However, the Star Press reports the financial software company had been seeking $1.25 million for the expansion.
Accutech, which specializes in wealth management software, relocated its headquarters from Yorktown to a former Sears building in downtown Muncie in 2019.
The company currently employs about 120 people and plans to add more than 160 more over the next three and a half years, according to the publication.
In addition to the new hires, Accutech plans to acquire more buildings on the block on which its headquarters sits and add parking space for the growing number of employees. Mayor Dan Ridenour told the commission last week the company would invest nearly $5 million in the expansion.
However, commissioner Shareen Wagley suggested providing the $750,000 grant and the company could request the rest from the Muncie Industrial Revolving Loan Fund Board.
Last week, Accutech unveiled The Clubhouse @Accutech, a family and entertainment venue on the first floor of the former Sears building. The venue features a variety of digital sports through large screens and digital bays, as well as an indoor, 18-hold miniature golf course.
